I was not even planning on visiting Göteborg (Gothenburg in English) but definitely glad I did. I met some really cool people in Copenhagen and Göteborg became the next destination. After taking a train there and getting to the Hostel, I had a Halloumi sandwich for the first time.
I now may have a slight obsession with Halloumi. Initially I disliked any goat cheeses, but after eating Halloumi and fried goat cheese with jam for Tapas (this was my first experience with tapas also) my taste-buds are more welcoming of these cheeses.
Adventuring out in Sweden was a little different than in Copenhagen, most of the people we ran into were pretty cool however. It was a pleasure to meet people interested and passionate about computers as well as Guinness. In general though, everyone could look at me and immediately tell I was American (I guess it was my Husky stature, or accent lol).
We went to the Göteborg Global Biodiversity Centre, and there were SOO many birds. It was really cool to see the different types of animals there, however it was surprising when we realized some of them actually were alive at one point and were preserved so well. While it was snowing that day, it was beautiful to see the snow covering the Slottsskogen park.
Later that night we went to a Club (Gretas), had a lot of fun, there were floors with different types of music for everyone. Everyone was super cool, and we definitely had fun on the dance floor. I had so much fun however, my phone fell out of my pocket on the way home and I lost it (fail I know). Sorry if y'all were trying to reach me as I am just now getting online. Getting home was a challenge but the organicmaps.app literally saved me.
My last day in Göteborg started with a ferry trip to the Göteborg Radio Museum. It was fascinating to see the origins of radio communications and how it spawned the technology that we used today. It was a very humbling moment to listen to the museum curator explain how the "radio tube Triode was invented in 1907" (source) , as well as how crystals are used in radio as well as view the advancements that got us to modern cellphones.
I wrapped up my time in Göteborg with a margarita pizza and a chess game with a very formidable opponent, then I made my way to the train home. Thank you to the people who showed me love and looked out for me in Sweden. I really appreciate you and I am excited to show y'all life in Florida.
